Red Centre Way
Marvel at the fortitude of our early pioneers as you pass through the dramatic desert landscapes and sandstone rock formations of Central Australia. The Red Centre Way links the landmarks of Uluru / Ayers Rock, Kata Tjuta / The Olgas and Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) as it winds through Australia’s awe-inspiring interior. As you gaze at the Ranges, imagine them a million years ago, a time when they stood as tall as the Himalayas. Be sure to scrutinise the squiggly lines etched on the rocks of Kings Canyon, evidence of a time when this area was once an enormous inland sea.
Nature’s Way
Nature's Way winds through tropical monsoon rainforests, expansive floodplains and towering escarpments, a land that is steeped in Aboriginal culture and pioneering history. The triangular drive begins in Darwin and meanders through the Adelaide and Mary River wetlands and leads to World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. The Park is owned and jointly managed by a number of Aboriginal clans. The road then heads to Katherine, home to the majestic Katherine Gorge (Nitmuluk) in the Nitmiluk National Park and eventually returns to Darwin via Litchfield National Park and its stunning waterfalls. For photography, wildlife and bird watching enthusiasts, this is a dream drive on a fully sealed road which is suitable for a two-wheel drive vehicle.
